President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has defended her principal’s decision to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s daughter, Hajiya Fatima and her groom, Idris Ajimobi on Saturday despite not visiting Yobe and Benue states which have witnessed devastating terrorist and herdsmen attacks respectively in the past few weeks.
Onochie was responding to the many criticisms of the president on social media.
Writing on her Twitter page, she made it clear that the president was an adult and has the freedom to decide where he goes.
“President @MBuhari is an adult. He decides where he goes. He decided it’s Kano today. And to Kano he went,” she wrote.
