Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina has described the demand by some groups under the banner of Concerned Nigerians as unconstitutional.
He disclosed this on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics while answering questions about President Muhammadu Buhari’s health and the expected time of his return.
The group had commenced a sit-out protest, #ResumeOrResign on Monday, during which they demanded that the President discloses his health status and decide if he is still capable of ruling the nation.
In his reaction, Adesina said: “Well, the President at all times will do what is legal and what is constitutional, so what they are asking for is not known to our law. The president will stand by our laws at all times, he would uphold the law and defend the law.
On the President’s health he said: “It’s already In public domain that the President is recovering very well and as soon as the doctors give all-clear, he will be back home. We are not part of the medical team so we cannot say until the doctors say, Mr President you can proceed, then that is when he will come.”
