Cristiano Ronaldo blames Zinedine Zidane for Real Madrid’s loss to Real Betis.

Real were stunned at the Bernabeu last night as Betis won 1-0 thanks to an injury-time winner.

Zidane’s men have had a hit-and-miss start to the campaign.

The loss last night put Real seven points behind Barcelona with just five games gone.

Barca have won all five of their La Liga games, conceding just two goals and look impressive under Ernesto Valverde.

And according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Real talisman Ronaldo blames Zidane for their Betis defeat.

They say Ronaldo has told the Frenchman to change his approach.

The Portugal international hinted at a change in formation or tactics to solve Real’s worrying start to the season.

Real are back in action on Saturday afternoon, with Zidane’s men travelling to Alaves in La Liga.

Speaking after the game last night, Zidane defended Ronaldo and said Real were unlucky not to get the win.

“No [complaints], nothing,” the Real boss insisted when asked about Ronaldo’s performance.

“On the contrary, quite the contrary.

“We are happy to have Cristiano with us and for him to be in the team.

“This is football, when the ball just did not want to go in, this can happen.

“We had 26 or 27 chances, today the ball did not want to go in, especially here, in our home stadium.

“I love this word, tranquility. We are going to have tranquility.

“We will be calm.”
