Donald Trump is Vindictive, It’s Dangerous to Have Him in the White House – Richard Branson

Billionaire Richard Branson on Tuesday called Donald Trump “a very vindictive, rather dangerous” and “sad man” and dismissed him for not being a “successful business person.”

Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, made the comments during an interview on MSNBC where he recounted a “bizarre” lunch he had with Trump years ago.

“This man is a very vindictive man, he’s rather a dangerous man, rather a sad man,” Branson said on MSNBC. “I would feel very uncomfortable — very, very uncomfortable — with somebody like Donald Trump in the White House.”

Branson recounted having lunch with Trump many years ago at Trump’s behest. According to a blog post Branson wrote about their meeting in Manhattan, Trump spent most of the lunch talking about his bankruptcies.

“Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help,” Branson wrote. “He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people. He didn’t speak about anything else and I found it very bizarre.”

Branson told the MSNBC host that one bankruptcy is understandable but Trump’s many bankruptcies suggests he’s “not a massively successful business person.”

“One bankruptcy can be forgiven,” Branson said on MSNBC. “But two — very questionable. Three … most successful business people do not go through that kind of career.”

But for Branson, the most troubling is the vindictive streak a President Trump would bring to the White House.

“There are a lot of frightening things about this election; not least that policy has been pushed so far down the agenda,” Branson wrote. “What concerns me most, based upon my personal experiences with Donald Trump, is his vindictive streak, which could be so dangerous if he got into the White House. For somebody who is running to be the leader of the free world to be so wrapped up in himself, rather than concerned with global issues, is very worrying.”
