FACT CHECK | Jonathan, Not Buhari Commissioned the Eko Atlantic City Project in 2013

Contrary to claims in a tweet by Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode which credited President Muhammadu Buhari for commissioning the Eko Atlantic City project in Lagos, the project was actually commissioned a few years ago by Goodluck Jonathan as President.

Precisely, on Thursday 21st February, 2013, President Goodluck Jonathan commissioned the Eko Atlantic City project in Lagos.

The event had in attendance, top dignitaries including, former President of America, Bill Clinton; former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu and then Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola.
