Even in death, Fela’s legacy lives on.
Fela Kuti, also known as Fela Anikulapo-Kuti or simply Fela, was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, musician, composer, pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre, human rights activist, and political maverick.
As the celebration of Felabration 2015 dawns, his American girlfriend Sandra Izsadore arrives Nigeria. Sandra introduced Fela to the philosophy of Malcolm X -a development that changed Fela’s perspective completely about the Black race.
