Giroud’s Scorpion Kick Wins 2017 FIFA Puskas Award

Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud’s ‘scorpion kick’ goal against Crystal Palace in January received the Puskas award for the goal of the year at the Best FIFA football awards in London on Monday.

The prize is for the best goal of 2016/17 and the France international’s acrobatic effort at the Emirates edged out Colombia’s Deyna Castellanos and goalkeeper Masuluke Oscarine’s overhead kick in South Africa.
