‘Fulani Herdsmen From Libya’ Kill Five in Benue

A fresh attack on a village in Benue State by suspected herdsmen has left no fewer than five persons dead.

The herdsmen initially suspected to be Fulani herdsmen but later branded as herdsmen from Libya according to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, have been on a killing spree across Nigeria over the past few months.

The incident which occurred in Tarfi village, Binnev Ward, Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State also left several others injured after the invaders stormed the village late Friday night and started shooting sporadically.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP, Moses Yamu confirmed the attack, saying five persons lost their lives in the attack.

“Yes I can confirm the attack on Tarfi village, Binnev Ward, in Buruku Local Government Area of the state by suspected Fulani herdsmen; so far we have record five deaths, two persons were killed in the village but three others who sustained injuries in the attack died on their way to the hospital,” Yamu said.
