The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Mr Simon Achuba, is not taking the action of the State House of Assembly lightly as he has moved to fight his battle in court.

Mr Achuba filed an application before the State High Court, Lokoja, the state capital to challenge the impeachment notice served by the lawmakers.

The suit, which dated August 19, was filed on the grounds that it was served out of time and marred with irregularities.

Joined as respondents to the suit are the State House of Assembly, its Speaker, and all members of the legislative chamber.

Others are the Chief Judge in the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah, and the Attoney-General of the state.
