Lacazette Will Succeed at Arsenal After £52 Million Move – Thierry Henry

Alexandre Lacazette will be a success at Arsenal, according to former Gunner Thierry Henry, Daily Mail reports.

The France international moved to the north London side in the summer for a fee of £52million and is expected to lead the line for Arsenal as they aim to return to a Champions League place.

And his compatriot Henry, who is Arsenal’s record goalscorer – with 228 – is confident that Lacazette can work well with the club’s existing strikers this season.

‘(Lacazette) has a different game to Giroud, which I think is good because you need different types of strikers,’ Henry said on Sky Sports.

‘He did it in the French league and people might say it’s a different league, but, with due respect to Lyon, he’ll also be with better players. I’m backing him to have a good season.’

Arsenal brought in Lacazette for a club record price after they finished fifth last season, missing out on a Champions League place for the first time in 21 years

Henry, who the 26-year-old has regularly been compared to, believes he will have a positive impact on a side that has sometimes struggled for clinical strikers.

‘I’m a big fan of him,’ Henry said. ‘I saw him playing for a long time in the French league and in the youth team.

‘He was always a talent that everyone was for him to grow into, and to be fair he did, he’s been scoring goals every season.’

Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign with a game against Leicester at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
