NPFL: Joseph Yobo Joins Kano Pillars FC

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has joined Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Kano Pillars.

The 35-year-old signed a deal with the League Management Company (LMC), to play for an NPFL team, in order to promote and add value to the domestic league.

Yobo, who played for Fenerbahce, Everton and Norwich during his career, has now chosen the former league champions ahead of Akwa United, IfeanyiUbah FC and Wikki Tourists.

“[Joseph] Yobo has not been confirmed as our player yet because we are still in talks,” Pillars media officer, Idris Malikawa, told Goal.

“We told the League Management Company about our interest to have him in our team and we hope anytime soon, he teams up with us.

“Yobo on his own part wants to play for Kano Pillars and once an agreement has been reached, we will let everyone know.”
