The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a statement on the purported exemption certificate in possession of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
The NYSC was reacting to an investigative report published by Premium Times on Saturday detailing how Mrs Adeosun skipped the mandatory national service and forged an exemption certificate of the service to cover for it.
The story has generated a heated controversy among Nigerians who asked the minister to resign from her post or be fired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Below is a full text of the NYSC’s statement:

How can a president with waec certificate fire a minister just for NYSC certificate. Before that happens the president must first resign. He is the first to occupy office without relevant certificate
