Am I The One Who Closed Your School?, Ajimobi Tells Protesting Students [VIDEO]

A video of Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, criticising protesting students of the Ladoke Akintola University, has gone viral, drawing public condemnation and criticism for the governor.

The video, said to have been shot a few days ago, showed the governor accusing the students of disrespecting him and telling them to do whatever they want to do.

The students had protested to the governor’s office demanding the resolution of the crisis in the institution which led it to be shut for eight months.

But the governor was offended by their attitude and the songs they were singing.

He said, “You complain that your school has been shut for eight months. Am I the one who closed your school? If that is how to talk to me, then whatever you want to do, do it.

“If you want to make trouble, we will wait for you. Whatever will happen, let it happen. You should have little respect for constituted authority, no matter what.”

When the students interrupted the governor and pointed out that they have been at home for eight months, he responded, “Eight months of what? This is not the first time a school will be shut; so what?

“It is not to come here and sing, ‘It will be rough this time’. To be rough for who? Is it me?”

The governor was further angered when the student replied by saying yes, he ordered security personnel to bring one of the students to him.

After the student resisted, he told them they must face reality and realise that there was no money.

“Your management, the Oyo State government and many government lack funds. If they lack funds, they must find a way to help the students, but if you come here and you are shouting, I am not going to talk to you,” Ajimobi said.
