Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, alongside other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators, has vowed not to be compromised in the battle to protect the country’s democracy.
While commenting on the siege to the National Assembly by the Department of State Services (DSS) officials, Melaye alleged that Adam Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), was already gathering names of senators willing to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki.
“This is for Nigerians to take note that our democracy is under siege and we are here inside the National Assembly and the battle to protect democracy is a battle of no retreat no surrender “he said.
“They have resolved that they are going to collect signatures for impeachment and the National Chairman of APC Adams Aliyu Oshiomole is there with them and he is saying that every one of them should sign the fictitious impeachment letter and from there they are coming to the National Assembly.”
Calling on Nigerians to help save the country’s democracy, Melaye said: “Democracy under attack. Nigerians must defend democracy. We will not allow anti-democratic forces to prevail.”
