PDP Vows Legal Redress Over Presidential Result

The Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to challenge the results of the elections of the 23rd of February in court and will petition the United Nations on what they described as the militarization of the polls.

This decision was reached at an extended caucus meeting which held in Abuja and presided by the party chairman, Prince Uche Secondus who accused INEC and security operatives of compromise during the elections.

Mr. Secondus said he is concerned that the same scenario will play out at the Governorship and National assembly elections on the 9th of March.

Similarly, PDP spokesman Kola Ologbodiyan while addressing the media accused the APC of blackmailing and harassing the presidential candidate of the PDP, hence, the reason he has the resolve to seek litigation

Ologbodiyan also alleged that the APC bribed smaller political parties to ask Atiku not to go to court.

He said the APC is afraid of what the litigation would reveal, adding that the PDP has vowed to reclaim its “stolen mandate”.

Noting that many of its chieftains who were at the caucus meeting are preparing for the Governorship and National assembly elections billed for the weekend, the PDP spokesman urged Nigerians to come out en mass and resist what he described as intimidation by the military.

Asides concerns about the elections, Secondus also demanded the release of the Son-in-law and lawyer of Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, claiming that the arrest is a witchhunt and an infringement of rights.
