NFF Crisis: Pinnick Has Not Been Removed by Any Court – Keyamo
Lagos-based legal practitioner, Festus Keyamo, yesterday dismissed as “total and complete falsehood” reports that the Amaju Pinnick led board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been sacked by a Federal High Court, even as he warned Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung not to be part of the soccer crisis.
Keyamo in a release made available to Sunday Sunsports stated:
“The public and all football lovers must ignore this storm in a tea cup. There is simply NO COURT ORDER removing anybody from office.”
Keyamo stressed that given the sensitive nature of football administration in the country, it was necessary to set the records straight.
“For the purpose of clarity, at no time did the Honourable Court order the installation of one Chris Giwa as Chairman of the NFF as neither Chris Giwa nor Amaju Pinnick are parties to the present suit in JOS. It is therefore a distortion of the Order of the Honourable Court to assume that Chris Giwa was ordered to resume as the Chairman of the NFF,” Keyamo stated.
Warning all those involved in the NFF legal battle not to resort into sheer brigandage, Keyamo charged sports minister, Solomon Dalung not to be involved in the crisis which he described as sheer madness.
“The Minister of Sports must not also aid this sheer madness. Whoever wants to remove Amaju Pinnick and members of the NFF board from office must approach the court to join them as parties and must seek clear and positive Orders against each and everyone of them,” Keyamo stated.
It would be noted that the crisis rocking Nigerian football has reared its ugly head again with the return to the court of those jostling for the soul of Nigerian football.
