The city of Lagos, Nigeria ground to a standstill on Sunday December 18, 2016 as the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama was welcomed to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos upon his arrival in Nigeria to join other notable personalities at the Glo Ovation Carol 2016.
The Ovation Carol 2016, a brainchild of Chief Dele Momodu, Chief Executive Officer of Ovation Group of Companies, was birthed in 2007 with the purpose of showing appreciation to God at the tail end of every year.
According to Momodu, “Our intention was to give hope, help and voice to those who need just that little push. Ours was not to concentrate on those who have already given up on life and have decided to do nothing about it. We were interested in those pushing on against the vicissitudes of life and knowing there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
“We are happy to note and report that we’ve been doing our bits and pieces adding salt and sugar in our own humble way to the lives of mostly our youths, especially in Nigeria and Ghana. We chose the platform of entertainment to reach out to those who may be easily disillusioned about endless struggles leading to nowhere.”
President Mahama’s entry into Nigeria was first revealed on Dele Momodu’s Instagram page, announcing his presence in Nigeria for the Glo Ovation Carol 2016.
In a second picture, President Mahama was spotted stepping out elegantly from an Ovation branded Range Rover SUV.

‘Onaapo’ was the official campaign song for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in their effort to re-elect Mahama as president.
