SDP Reps Member Elect Declares Support For Gbajabiamila

The only Reps elect under the Platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 9th National Assembly representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State,  Alhaji Tajudeen Adefisoye, also known as Small Alhaji has promised to assiduously mobilize support for Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila across party lines.

Hon. Adefisoye described Gbajabiamila as undoubtly the best man to take charge as the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives. He also described the House Majority Leader as a quality brand that is already attracting good sales across the nation with the ongoing right marketing.

Tajudeen Adefisoye in a statement released on Tuesday stated that he decided to take up the responsibility of mobilizing intense support for Gbajabiamila to further boost his chances of emerging the  Speaker of the 9th House.

Adefisoye said, “My resolve to ensure the emergence of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the 9th Speaker of the House of Representatives is in the best interest of Nigerian democracy and Nigerians at large. Aside his unmatched experience in legislative business and undisputable eminent qualifications that lend credence to his suitability to become the next Speaker; Gbajabiamila is definitely an independent minded and  committed party man who is prepared to ensure robust relationship between the House and the Executive in the overall best interest of all Nigerians without compromising the independence and integrity of the 9th House”.

Also stated by Hon. Adefisoye was the fact that he had since been working to disabuse the minds of some of his colleagues on certain misconception about Gbajabiamila. Adefisoye also said that he would leverage on his good relationship with majority of the ‘first timers’ in the House to ensure that Project Gbajabiamila is realized at the end.

“We honestly cannot afford to spare any effort in our quest to realize the speakership of Hon. Gbajabiamila. He is definitely the very best and obviously the most experienced amongst the contenders. My support for him is not informed by tribal or religious sentiments; rather I am mobilising support for Hon. Gbajabiamila based on my deep conviction of his undeniable and highly impressive qualities of competence, detribalization, independent mindedness, wisdom and brilliance”, added Adefisoye.

He further said, “It is the collective responsibility of all patriotic citizens of this great country to join Gbaja in his quest of nation building : A Joint Task”.

Meanwhile, the Idanre born politician had in the spirit of ongoing Ramadan fast offset the medical bills of 21 indigent patients in a government owned hospital. Adefisoye visited Idanre General Hospital on Tuesday where he paid the medical bills and promised to partner with the United Nations International Children and Education Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO) to develop the hospital. He also promised to bring accessible health care services to the people of Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency  as soon as possible.

The House of Reps member elect took time during the visit to praise the state Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu for giving the hospital a facelift. He also promised to support the administration of Akeredolu so as to ensure that the people of Idanre and Ifedore federal constituency have access to quality health care services. He also assured that pregnant women and indigent senior citizens would be well catered for all through his tenure in the House of Representatives.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr. Kayode Omisogbon who conducted Adefisoye round the hospital thanked the business man turned politician for his visit and kind gesture. He described Adefisoye as a man with a heart of gold and promised to work with him in ensuring that the common people of the area have access to primary health services.

In her reaction, one of the patients, Mrs Amaka Okafor thanked Adefisoye for his thoughtful gesture and wished him divine assistance all through his time in the lower legislative chamber.
