Shootings Disrupt Kogi PDP Primaries

The governorship primary election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has been disrupted following sporadic shootings. Voting had ended and sorting of votes cast for aspirant was ongoing when the incident occurred at about 2am Wednesday.

Following the sporadic shootings within and around the Lokoja Confluence Stadium, venue of the primary, electoral officials, delegates, aspirants and their supporters scampered to safety, thus bringing the exercise to an abrupt end.

Some journalists and other persons at the exercise sustained injuries while some others lost their belongings in the course of running for life.
