Arsenal are reportedly set to move on from their doomed pursuit of Jamie Vardy by targeting Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.
The Daily Star reports that the £23million striker is a top target for Arsene Wenger after scoring 27 goals in 33 games last season.
The Algerian international is under contract until 2020 but is allegedly happy to talk to Arsenal over the possibility of a move.
Sporting are expected to offer Slimani a new contract to help convince him to stay.
