World’s Longest Flight Lasting 20-Hours Takes Off in New York

An almost day-long flight from New York to Sydney, Australia began test flights on Friday.

The Qantas airline trip will take 20 hours. It will be the world’s longest direct flight. With time zone differences, the plane leaves New York on Friday night and will land in Sydney on Sunday morning.

40 crew members are on the 10,000-mile voyage. Qantas wants to assess their behavior while being on a flight that lengthy.

The route is scheduled to launch for customers in 2022.
