The Abia State Disability Community has congratulated Governor Dr. Alex C. Otti on his second anniversary in office, acknowledging his commitment to inclusive governance.
In a statement signed by David O. Anyaele, Chairman of the Abia State Disability Commission, the community praised the Governor’s efforts to promote accessibility and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Under Governor Otti’s leadership, the administration has implemented several initiatives, including:
– Appointing persons with disabilities to various positions
– Establishing the Abia State Disability Commission and the South East Zonal Office of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities
– Promoting accessible infrastructure
– Providing grants to disability groups
– Supporting Abia Paralympics and approving the hosting of the International Para Badminton Championship
– Strengthening disability leadership
– Procuring an accessible bus
– Distributing school buses to special schools
– Including persons with disabilities in government programs
The Abia State Disability Community expressed optimism about the state’s future, stating that an inclusive Abia State is achievable under Governor Otti’s leadership.
“We are witnessing the removal of barriers and breaking strong holds against Abians with disabilities,” the statement read.
The community congratulated Governor Otti and wished him continued success in his governance.
