Why I Dedicated My ECOWAS Appointment, Award to the Armed Forces of Nigeria – Amb. Austin Peacemaker

The recently appointed ECOWAS Youth Council Ambassador Amb. Austin Peacemaker, Security Affairs CEO who dedicated his appointment, and award to the Armed Forces of Nigeria, told newsmen the reason behind his action.

In a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, Amb. Peacemaker said he is dedicating his appointment to the Nigerian Armed Forces, for giving so much to protect Nigerians against terrorism and other criminalities.

According to Amb. Peacemaker, the gallant men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, have been resolute in their war against terrorism, including aiding in maintaining internal security which is primarily not their role.

Austin was appointed ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, and also presented with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Peace Builfing by the Youth Council of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in recognition of his outstanding commitment towards advancing peace and security in Nigeria, and the ECOWAS region at large.

The peacemaker pushes his agenda through civil military relations activities, youth and community engagements, and campaign against hate speech, fake news and malicious posts and reportage on the social media /new media.

The new Ambassador for peace is the founder of Television Security (TVS News) which is the first ever 100% security content television in Africa. He pioneered the first ever Social Media Influencers Town hall Interactive Session in partnership with the Nigerian Army Department of Civil Military Affairs courtesy of the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Buratai since 2018.

Austin Peacemaker is a masters student at the Nigerian Defence Academy where is currently studying Conflict, Security and Development at the department of History and War Studies.
