‘Police Coup’ Against Saraki Fails, Senate President Now Presiding Over Plenary

Senate President Bukola Saraki is now at the National Assembly presiding over plenary.

Saraki, whose whereabouts was unknown earlier on Tuesday was seen wearing white gown.

Operatives of the Department of State Services and men of the Nigeria Police had laid siege to the Abuja homes of Saraki and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

The security operatives arrived at the homes in the early hours of Tuesday.

Saraki who smartly evaded the Police blockade was seen walking down to his office for a meeting of the leadership of the Senate before the commencement of the day’s plenary.

But the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu was yet to be seen in the National Assembly.
