Buhari Arrives New York, to Deliver a Speech on Climate Change at UNGA

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived New York, United States ahead of the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Recall that President Buhari left the shores of Nigeria on Saturday to attend 71st United Nations General Assembly Session in New York.

At the General Assembly, Buhari will deliver a keynote address on “Taking Climate Action Towards Sustainable Development In Nigeria and The Lake Chad Basin.”

President Buhari and Obama are expected to discuss support for security and economic changes in the country, and the way forward and efforts of the various governments to counter Boko Haram terrorists insurgents.

President Buhari is expected to meet with US President Barack Obama to sign a trade investment agreement and is also expected to sign the Paris climate change agreement.

Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode and AbdulAziz Yari, Governor of Zamfara State are in the company of the President in New York.
