There are rumblings in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the recent nomination of non-career ambassadorial nominees by President Muhammadu Buhari.
APC governors are said to be angry with Buhari for alienating them in the selection process, Thisday reports.
Recall that Buhari had on Thursday forwarded the names of 46 non-career ambassadors to the Senate for confirmation.
The nominees according to included retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice George Oguntade (Lagos); former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Paulen Tallen (Plateau); former member of the House of Representatives, Usman Bugaje (Katsina), former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Ibeto.
The party leaders across the country, including the governors are said not to be happy with the way the latest ambassadorial list was handled, as they were completely ignored from the selection process.
This disappointment was said to have been more pronounced in the South-west geopolitical zone, where a majority of the APC leaders claimed complete ignorance of the persons appointed from their respective states.
The aggrieved APC chieftains have vowed to frustrate the proposed ambassadors whose nomination did not represent the reality and endorsement of party leaders in their states.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has urged the aggrieved APC governors put into writing any dissatisfaction about the nominees on the ambassadorial list.
