Leaked Memo: Shehu Sani Accuses El-Rufai of ‘Treason’, Wants Him Punished by APC

The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has stated that the governor of Kaduna State’s leaked memo criticising President Muhammadu Buhari of being a failure was dubious.

He also explained that the Governor’s secret memo condemning Mr. President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was a manifestation of Nasir El-Rufa’i’s attempt to dust a popular sympathy and carve an image of a ‘competent alternative’ to President Buhari come 2019.

On his Instagram page on Saturday, Senator Sani declared: “Now El-Rufai has cunningly criticised the President and the party, disguised it as a memo and leaked to the Press; that also qualified him as disloyal and disrespectful.‎”

“That means logically, he is now leaking memo to dust popular sympathy and carve an image of a competent alternative to President Buhari”, he insisted.

The Governor is entitled to his own opinion and perception but the contradiction and irony of it are basically two;first is that he accused me of been disloyal and disrespectful to the President and the Party for speaking out my mind;And now he has done his own cunningly by criticising the President and the Party,disguised it as a memo and leaked it out to the press;that also qualified him as “disloyal and disrespectful”;the difference is that mine is blunt while his own is dubious.Secondly,for all the issues he raised against the President, his own is worst in his space of governance, whether it’s the existence of cabal or politics of exclusion or incompetence or public perception.The difference is that the President is tolerant to criticism and alternative views. The Governor recently said I’m in the habit of criticizing him because I want to be Governor of Kaduna state,that means logically he is now leaking memo to dust popular symphaty and cave an image of ‘a competent alternative’ to Baba.Those who cared to know about my little history know that I don’t call a spade a pestle or a spoon. The Governor always recommends that our Party should punish me for criticising him;now that he has fired a cruise missile to the President through a deliberately leaked memo, he should also be treated same.If our able party chair will give me 5 strokes of cane for speaking out,the Governor should be given thrice that for “leaking out”. It’s often said that look at the message and not the messenger,but there are times that you can only decipher the message by looking at the messenger. I will leave these personal proverbs for our Great President to keep in mind 1.He who keeps a scorpion in his pocket must always watch his groin. 2.He who inherit a cobra should know that it’s not a pet Senator Shehu sani Kaduna central.

Sani wondered how Kaduna governor insisted that he should be ostracized from the party for speaking his opinion on fundamental issues of governance.

He added that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should punish El-Rufai for the height of disrespect to Mr. President and the party, insisting that it was time the Party began to decipher the message.
