Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Apapa Federal Constituency of Lagos State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Nigerians to embrace peace and love in the spirit of the successful completion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement on Wednesday, he said it is expected that the sacrifice of the past month would have rejuvenated Muslim faithful on the true meaning and essence of life through the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Congratulating Muslims across the country particularly those in his Apapa constituency on the successful completion of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, he said “we must now apply those virtues of piety, sacrifice, love, commitment and discipline which the Prophet taught in our daily relationship with fellow humans, irrespective of ethnic and religious affiliations.”
“Our consecration through this holy month will be in vain if we allow strife amongst us. Let us pursue peace with all men and join hands with fellow citizens to put our country first in all that we do.
“Today’s celebration calls for sober reflection. Let the leaders and the led join hands together in exalting the ideals of patriotism in our great nation.
“I sincerely pray that our devotion and sacrifice through the holy month will be rewarded with increased blessings and a more prosperous future”, he said.
