Kwankwasiyya Posting Gory Pictures of Plateau Crisis to Discredit Kano Rerun – Kano Govt

Kano state government describes as desperate move by the Kwankwasiyya group of the PDP to discredit the peaceful conduct of the rerun election by posting pictures of violence witnessed in some part of the country on social media platforms and beyond and paints it as what is happening in Kano.

A statement signed by the commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba indicates that, the supplementary election that witnessed large turn out of voters and adjudged as most peaceful, is being dismissed by the Kwankwasiyya group.

It says even before the election the group had unleashed terror on innocent citizens in order to scare them away from exercising their franchise.

“Since yesterday, members of the group have been posting and sharing gory pictures of violence in an effort paint black the peaceful and orderly election in Kano. Some of this pictures were shots from the Jos crisis in Plateau state”, the statement adds.

The commissioner therefore calls on the public to ignore such postings awash on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.

The statement also urges the people and particularly members of the APC to remain calm and await for the outcome of the election.
