Pope Francis Speaks Up For Biafra, Promises to Do What He Can

The agitation for a sovereign state of Biafra over the weekend tried to enlist the support of one of the most powerful religious figure on earth today.

This happened when members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Italy staged a protest at the Vatican in Rome. Pope Francis While addressing them, promised to do what he can for them.

The crowd of protesters who came peacefully, intending to receive the Pope’s blessings for their agitation were ecstatic when the Pope mentioned the name “BIAFRA” while addressing them. Speaking in Italian, the word “Biafra” clearly stood out in the Pope’s address resulting in a joyous eruption among the protesters.

World over, members of IPOB have been trying to forcefully draw the attention of the world to their demand. This move by their members in Italy has given them one of the most significant political boosts they have enjoyed till date.
