Senators Visit Obanikoro, Bala Mohammed, Others in EFCC Custody

Some senators on Tuesday paid a solidarity visit to three former ministers, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Femi Fani-Kayode and Bala Muhammed, and former presidential spokesperson, Reuben Abati, who are in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja.

Punch reports that among the visiting senators were four serving ones identified as Isah Hamma from Bauchi Central, Ali Wakili from Bauchi South, Ali Ndume from Borno South, and Philips Aduda from the Federal Capital Territory.

A former Oyo State senator, Teslim Folarin, was also among the visitors.

The senators reportedly got to the EFCC office around 8pm on Tuesday.

A source said the senators gave the former ministers and former presidential spokesperson the assurances of their support.

He said, “The senators were more than five, but those are the names I can confirm. They got to the EFCC office around 8pm.

They gave Obanikoro, Abati, Fani-Kayode and Muhammed the assurances of their support. The senators said they were happy to find the four men in high spirits. It was more of a solidarity visit.”
