#BringBackDiezani Protesters Storm EFCC, Ask FG to Repatriate Former Minister

Ace musician, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, alongside his OurMumuDonDo protesters have stormed the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja to demand the repatriation of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke.

The former Minister who served during the administration of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, is undergoing investigations over alleged fraud committed while she was in office.

Recently, a Lagos Federal High Court ordered the forfeiture of some property allegedly linked to Diezani because they were believed to have been acquired using proceeds of stolen wealth.

How can a country with laws and a functioning judiciary can not even check the powers of the various system of government and not bring looters of the federal funds to book. The case of Diezani is clear case that Nigerian leaders do what ever the want with the state funds and taxpayers funds with no one to question them. Even after the exposure of various looted funds, the judiciary has found it difficult to bring to book those who loot our funds for trial and punishment. Nigeria should wake up and realize that this sort of behaviour won’t help us in the nearest future. The law is the law and should bend for no man. The EFCC should take their work more seriously.
