Churchill Oliseh, Nigerian football manager and owner of FC Ebedei has warned aspiring African footballers seeking a professional football career in Europe and other parts of the world to beware of fraudsters who may be using his name to defraud their unsuspecting victims.
In a statement he issued on Friday, the elder brother to former Super Eagles team captain and head coach Sunday Oliseh said; “I’m not a football agent and I do not demand or collect money from aspiring footballers seeking a football career abroad. I only work with players in my club – FC Ebedei. Anyone paying money to any agent in my name does so at their own risk.”
Oliseh’s clarification comes in the wake of activities of fraudulent and fake football agents who are using his name to perpetuate their nefarious activities.
Oliseh decried the fraudulent use of his name even on social media noting that he has had to contact Facebook severally to shut down fake accounts opened in his name.
Churchill Oliseh is credited with discovering Nigerian international Obafemi Martins while he was playing street football in Lagos.
