The Senate on Thursday confirmed former Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and other ministerial nominees forwarded to it for approval as ministers of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Amaechi’s confirmation had attracted a lot of controversy and contention as senators elected on the platform of the PDP who strongly opposed his confirmation.
The senators staged a walkout before his confirmation was done. Senator Ike Ekweremadu (PDP) did not walkout with his colleagues because he is also the Deputy President of the Senate.
