Mark Zuckerberg Arrives Kenya After 3-Day Visit to Nigeria

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is in Kenya after a three-day visit in Lagos, Nigeria in his first visit to Africa.

Zuckerberg is expected to meet tech entrepreneurs, developers and talk to stakeholders in the ICT industry. But before that, his first stop was at the popular fish joint Mama Oliech on Marcus Garvey road accompanied with ICT CS Joe Mucheru.

“Just landed in Nairobi! I’m here to meet with entrepreneurs and developers, and to learn about mobile money – where Kenya is the world leader,” Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page.

His off-road itinerary, which has been kept under wraps, is in line with his program in Nigeria where he was seen jogging across the Ikoyi Bridge and walking in the streets of Lagos.

Zuckerberg posted photos on his Facebook profile showing the various places he visited in Lagos.

“Visited Nollywood, crashed a hip-hop music video, and met some of Nigeria’s biggest stars,” said Zuckerberg, in one of the posts.

Zuckerberg says he is visiting, among other places, iHub where he was shown around the Gearbox lab – a prototype development hub.

“It’s inspiring to see how engineers here are using mobile money to build businesses and help their community.”
