Mbah’s ‘Tomorrow Is Here’ Agenda Yielding Results In Enugu – Nwaokobia

A good governance advocate, leadership trainer, and publicist, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., has said that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration in Enugu State is beginning to record measurable progress three years after taking office.

Nwaokobia, in a statement issued to mark the governor’s third anniversary, noted that the “Tomorrow Is Here” mantra of the administration is gradually being reflected in developments across key sectors of the state’s economy.

He said the government has shown commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth, and institutional reforms, adding that these efforts are contributing to improved living conditions for residents.

“Three years into the administration, there are visible indicators of progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security. While expectations remain high, the direction of governance suggests a deliberate effort to deliver on campaign promises,” he said.

According to him, road construction and urban renewal projects in both urban and rural communities have improved connectivity and supported economic activities, particularly for small businesses and traders.

He also highlighted the state government’s focus on education, especially the Smart Green Schools initiative, which he described as an effort to modernise public education and equip students with relevant skills.

In the health sector, Nwaokobia commended the ongoing construction of 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state, noting that the initiative could strengthen access to basic healthcare services at the grassroots.

He further acknowledged efforts to improve security through increased investment in surveillance systems and coordination among security agencies, which he said has helped create a more stable environment for residents and investors.

On the economy, he stated that policies aimed at attracting investment and supporting private sector participation are gradually positioning the state for growth.

“The emphasis on agriculture, small-scale enterprise development, and internally generated revenue reflects an attempt to build a more sustainable economic base,” he said.

Nwaokobia added that the administration’s focus on rural development and inclusion is helping to extend government presence to previously underserved communities.

He, however, noted that challenges remain, particularly within the broader national economic environment, and urged the government to sustain its efforts to ensure that the benefits of development reach more citizens.

“The progress recorded so far is encouraging, but there is still a need for consistency and sustained implementation to fully realise the administration’s vision,” he said.

He concluded that the coming years would be critical in consolidating the gains already made and deepening reforms across all sectors.
