Mr Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s media and publicity adviser has incurred the wrath of Nigerians for suggesting to them that they should hold vandals responsible for the energy crisis the nation is facing.
Adesina spoke in an interview on Channels TV and explained how Nigeria lost thousands of megawatts via the sabotage of vandals, resulting in the power shortage nIgerians now face.
And in a bid to stave off blame from the government he said: “If you are crying that you are in darkness, go and fight vandals.”

The comment has not resonated well with Nigerians, who have drawn similarity between it and Minister of Petroleum Ibe Kachikwu’s ” I was not trained as a magician”. Kachikwu spoke last week when confronted with the lingering fuel scarcity, which he said may not be solved until May. Kachikwu had some days earlier said the scarcity would disappear in 48 hours.
Adesina tried to rationalise unprecedented power outage, since Minister Raji Fashola increased the power tariff, astronomically.
Within hours of his comment, Femi Adesina became the hottest topic on twitter, with some sympathetic posts saying he was brutal with truth.
Here are some of the Tweets about his Channels TV statement:

My take on this matter is that Femi Adesina, @FemAdesina needs a crash course in the art of refinement and gentility.
I saw the video!

How Femi Adesina has escaped Buhari’s axe is still a wonder something.
He’s been as reckless as they come since day 1

If Femi Adesina is going to continue in his irresponsible rants. Then @Mbuhari should show him the door @NGRPresident
