Top US lobby firm, Ballard Partners has disclaimed as fake, a letter it purportedly wrote to Senate President Bukola Saraki, predicting the loss of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The fake letter is currently being circulated in the social media by top influencers of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential campaign officials.
In the letter dated February 5, the firm allegedly said its survey on the presidential election showed that Atiku has a very slim chance of winning.
Festus Keyamo, spokesman of Buhari’s re-election campaign, joined the circulation of the fake news, retweeting a post showing the letter.
They paid millions of dollars to tell them what we already know! https://t.co/V9ttvA1vxO

But in a swift rebuttal from Ballard Partners, the firm described the purported letter as fake and fraudulent, stating that it never at any point in time authored such a letter or carried out any survey on Nigerian elections.
Statement from Brian Ballard:
“A letter allegedly sent by me on February 5, 2019 regarding the Nigerian presidential is fraudulent. My signature has been forged. Ballard Partners has not conducted any survey research on behalf of the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria.
