The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Wednesday adjourned the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki to 5th and 6th of November, 2015 to enable the Court of Appeal deliver its judgment on a case brought before it by Saraki challenging his trial by the CCT.
Saraki made an appearance Wednesday at the CCT where he is facing a 13-count charge bordering on corruption and false declaration of assets.
He was arraigned September 18, but he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail.
In the charges, Mr. Saraki was accused of breaching the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar, had on September 18 adjourned the case to October 21, 22 and 23 for further hearing.
The Court of Appeal had reserved judgement in Saraki’s case for 2pm on Monday but surprisingly backed down 3o minutes to the scheduled time fuelling allegations bordering on interference by some elements in the Nigerian presidency working to compel the court to grant judgement against the Senate President.
