Earth Tremors Reported in Kaduna State

A series of earth tremors and loud sounds have been reported in a location in Kaduna State, northwestern Nigeria on Sunday.

According to Sahara Reporters, the incident occurred in Kwoi, headquarters of Jaba local government area in the Southern Kaduna region of the State.

The New York based online newspaper said it received several distressed calls from the town alleging earth tremors but it has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

One source  Joshua Byang, said the the earth in the area shook six times starting at 10:32 a.m. on Sunday.

All efforts to reach Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, for details have been unsuccessful.

As at the time of this report, there is anxiety in the town, which is close to Nok village which houses several artifacts associated with the famous Nok civilization.
