President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in New York, on the sidelines of Obama’s final appearance at the UN General Assembly session.
The 71st UN General session opens on Monday. It will be President Buhari’s second appearance since he was elected into office on 29 May last year.
President Barack Obama will review military strategy against the Islamic State group, press nations to admit more refugees and review progress around the world, despite new challenges, the White House said Friday.
He will also talk about trade with Nigeria. Obama and Buhari are expected to talk about continued US support for security and economic changes in Nigeria, as well the government’s efforts to counter the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram.
Obama is also scheduled to meet with presidents of Iraq and Colombia.
