It’s been reported that multi-award-winning singer Adele, is dating multi-award-winning rapper and grime MC, Skepta. It’s a pairing we’d never considered before but actually, makes total sense when you think about it – the two Londoners are both utterly iconic and overflowing with talent, so should have plenty to talk about during their romantic trips to Nobu/Wetherspoons (or wherever it is that celeb folk go on dates).
Adele, 31, who announced splitting from her charity worker husband Simon Konecki, back in April this year is notoriously private about her personal life (fair play tbh) but did post this hilarious meme to her 31 million Instagram followers after the news broke. Skepta (real name Jospeh Junior Adenuga), who just turned 37, was previously dating OG supermodel Naomi Campbell (remember that GQ cover shoot?). Both Adele and Skepta are parents to one child.
According to The Sun, a source says the two Tottenham born and bred artists have been friends for a while but it’s only recently that romance has blossomed. “Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up. They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection. They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day.”
The same source also continued on to say, “They are both private about their love lives and they are both committed to their children first and foremost as well.”
Way back in 2016, Skepta was quoted in an interview saying, “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going” and shortly after, Adele posted a snap of the rapper with the caption “Tottenham Boy” and a heart emoji.
After seeing the social media shout out, Skepta said to press, “She gassed me up. One day I was just chilling and she [tweeted] a picture that said ‘Tottenham boy’ and she’s from Tottenham as well. I was actually going to quit music that day, that was one of the sickest things ever. She’s like the lady of Tottenham.”
We are thoroughly here for this news and will be holding out for some smash hit musical collaborations from the pair if the rumours are true (or even if they’re not frankly, we love you Skeptdele).
