Agatu Killings: Senator David Mark Donates Relief Materials to Victims

Former Senate President, Senator David Mark has donated relief materials to the displaced people from Agatu local government area of Benue State.

The materials donated include rice, indomie, vegetable oil, mattresses, mats, blankets salt and buckets.

Presenting the materials to John Ngbede, the representative of Agatu people, Senator Mark who was represented by Dr Adakole Elijah expressed sympathy over the carnage in Agatu and urged the people to look unto God the ultimate provider of life.

Senator Mark expressed confidence that both the state and federal governments will rise to the occasion, not only to alleviate the pains of the displaced people but find a lasting solution to the crisis.

The former senate president also expressed confidence in the ability of the Nasarawa State government to do the needful by cooperating with the Benue state government in its move to put an end to the hostility.

Receiving the relief materials, Mr John Ngbede, the PDP deputy governorship candidate in the state in the last general elections expressed gratitude over the gesture of Senator Mark who he said have always responded positively to the plight of Agatu people.

Ngbede who said the Agatu people have always supported Senator Mark assured that they will maintain the support.

He said the relief materials will be judiciously distributed to the displaced people who are presently in different camps

It would be recalled that thousands of people were last Tuesday displaced when persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked Akwu, Adagbo and Ayila, all in Agatu local government area of Benue state.
