#BenueSouthReRun: Benue Dep Governor’s Boy Mobbed for Ballot Box Snatching

An aide to the Benue State deputy Governor has been apprehended in Idabi, Otukpo LGA of Benue State after a failed attempt to snatch a ballot box and electoral materials, according to eyewitness reports who spoke to SIGNAL on Saturday.

The deputy governor’s aide, Agbo Icha Emmanuel was apprehended by youths in the polling unit after he was given a hot chase and a thorough beating of his life.

According to reports, Agbo Icha Emmanuel is a known thug and moves frequently around with the state’s deputy governor, Benson Abounu.

But for the timely arrival of the police who took custody of the suspect as well as the intervention of the Benue State deputy governor Engr. Benson Abounu, he may have been killed by the angry mob.

His principal, Engr. Benson Abounu described the incident as unfortunate but said security agents have been drafted to the scene to forestall any further occurrence.
