The Federal Government has appointed Dakuku Peterside as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Punch reports.
The appointment takes effect from today, March 10, a statement said.
Peterside was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the April 11 governorship election in Rivers State and a close ally of the Minister of Transport, Chief Rotimi Amaechi.
He holds doctorate Degree in Management Science from the University of Port Harcourt, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
He was a member of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015 and served as the Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Resources, downstream.
