Buhari Begs Boko Haram for Peace 48 Hours After Declaring ‘Technical Victory’

President Muhammadu Buhari has stressed the readiness of his government to persuade and appeal to members of the Boko Haram sect to embrace peace.

Buhari was speaking at his residence in the Presidential Villa when Christian and Muslim faithful living in the Federal Capital Territory paid him the traditional Christmas homage.

The President also appealed to civil, spiritual leaders and all Nigerians to be patient and support the administration in an effort to pull out from the situation affecting the country.

He decried a situation where about 70% of Nigerians are displaced due to terrorism and pledged that his administration will do its best to rehabilitate the displaced.

President Buhari said that Nigerian children will not be denied education and further thanked the International Community for sending their team to help train the Nigerian Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
