Photos of cars purportedly recovered by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under President Muhammadu Buhari surfaced in the Nigerian social media on Saturday through the Twitter account of one Babangida Ruma who tweets via @BabangidaRuma.
Ruma, a top social media influencer of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) tweeted the pictures which immediately attracted the applause and commendation of Nigerians and supporters of President Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign.
Kudo’s to EFCC as it continues to harvest exotic jeeps & cars planted in the bushes of Nigeria’s billionaire looters pic.twitter.com/616M9kntUn

However, checks by SIGNAL have revealed that the photographs were lifted from a Daily Mail UK report on a Chinese tyrant whose car park is littered with Bentleys and Mercedes totaling millions and abandoned by their rich owners.
The photographs are nothing close to what clearly appears an attempt at propaganda by the social media handlers of President Buhari. The development poses serious concerns about why President Buhari’s social media handlers have deliberately resorted to the use of blatant falsehood and propaganda in misleading unsuspecting Nigerian citizens.
The photographs have been trending in the Nigerian social media with Ruma’s tweet garnering over 500 retweets at the time of this report.
