Fierce Fighting Between Nigerian Army and Boko Haram Over Maiduguri

Fierce fighting is ongoing between Boko Haram insurgents and men of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital according to reports by Daily Post.

There were attempts by the insurgents to take over the capital city on Sunday.

According to reports, there is tension in the capital city as the military are making effort to stop the insurgents who have mobilized themselves in buses from penetrating the city of Maiduguri.

SIGNAL contacted spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Col. S.K. Usman to confirm or deny the reports. He picked the phone but declined comments, asking our reporter to call back in one hour.
