Japan Hands Over $17m Power Plant to Nigeria

The Government of Japan has extended the aid of USD 16.6 million to Nigeria for ‘the Project for Emergency Repair and Overhaul Works for the Jebba Hydro Power Station’. 

The turnaround maintenance project which was recently completed and ready for operation will add 100 megawatts to the national grid.

A statement from Mr. John Nwankwo, Senior Special Assistant/Advisor on Information and Culture in the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria said the hand-over will hold February 15 at Jebba, Niger State. 

The Deputy Chief of  Mission of Japan in Nigeria, Mr. Masaya Otsuka will attend the hand-over programme.
