JUST IN | We Are Confident of President Mahama Winning – Greenbook Initiative #GhanaDecides

…Akufo-Addo Lied That He Has Been Congratulated by Other Contestants

The Greenbook Ghana Initiative on Friday declared that the numbers received so far in Ghana’s fiercely contested presidential election are pointing to incumbent President Mahama’s victory.

According to a statement released by the group and made available to SIGNAL, the declaration of victory by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) barely five hours after the first day of election is questionable.

“We the Greenbook Ghana Team are confident in an un-shaken manner that President Mahama will win the election.

“Other than the fact that John Mahama has worked hard and the people voted for him, there are other key issues that have come to light.

“Firstly, the NPP declaring results five hours after the first day of election is questionable.

“29,000 polling stations and how could you have had all the results? Meanwhile you cannot show any of the pink sheets you are declaring.

“Secondly, all parties agreed to IPAC declaration but you flaunt the agreement and go ahead to declare yourself winners.

“Thirdly, media houses that were obviously biased have now pulled back ALL the numbers they were posting.

“Cases of over-voting have been reported for example in the following; Bantama Kokoso polling number F120503A over voting by 682. Swame Pentecost church Bremang polling number F170508 over voting by 482.

“Kwaadaso St. Francis Anglican JSS Ohwimasi polling number F130602A over voting by 686. More and more are coming.

“Lastly, Akufo-Addo lied that he has been congratulated by other contestants. Those same people have come and said that they did not concede or congratulate him.

“We are sure of President Mahama’s win. There are no two ways about it.”

Meanwhile, the EC has debunked as fake, a result allegedly published on its website giving victory to the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo. The EC says its website was hacked.

Several international media platforms have reported NPP opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo as winner of the elections based on radio station reports.

President Mahama on Friday called on Ghanaians to allow the Electoral Commission (EC) carry out its constitutional duties in releasing and announcing certified results from the various collation centres.

“Let’s allow EC to carry out its constitutional mandate. We’ll make Ghana proud no matter [the] outcome,” the President tweeted from his personal handle Friday.
